Kamo Community Inc (KCi) is an organisation made up of volunteers with a common purpose, to support the community and improve environments in Kamo.
KCi is forward thinking, with the priorities of communicating and collaborating with the Kamo community – as well as government agencies, local organisations and businesses – to revitalise Kamo Village and surrounds as an attractive, safe place to live, work and play, and to acknowledge, celebrate and promote Kamo’s heritage.
Currently KCi is working to raise the profile of the organisation, to increase awareness along with increasing the membership and encouraging participation, and to involve the community to develop collaborative projects that reflect the wants and needs of the Kamo community.
KCi has developed several avenues to communicate with the wider community to increase accessibility to information and encourage engagement.
• The new website is designed to offer information on projects, upcoming events and happenings in Kamo, a KCi blog, and several ways to submit feedback, ideas and information
• Suggestion Boxes – We have 10 boxes in locations throughout Kamo. They are cleared each month and suggestions/feedback is recorded and evaluated for possible action.
• Kamo Connect – the quarterly magazine with a printed circulation of 4400 and available online, with news, articles and items of interest related to Kamo.
• Kamo Connect facebook page
• Monthly meetings – meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month, anyone is welcome to attend, however if you wish to speak about a specific issue at the meeting, the secretary will need to be notified 7 days prior in order to be added to the agenda.
